The Illusion of Self?

Is the Self an illusion? Wait, didn’t I already write something about this? Was that me? Well, if I didn’t, who did? Don’t know. Maybe it is in the (Foot)Notes. That was a weird dialogue. Between myself and myself? This is just getting confusing. Wasn’t there something about everything being connected? That You are Everything? We are all everything. Still doesn’t prove or disprove the existence of a self. It may still be an illusion. But to whom? Doesn’t there have to be someone to see or perceive the illusion for there to be an illusion? Kind of like the falling tree in the forest question? Does the fact that an illusion requires a perceiver of the illusion show that the illusion of self actually is the proof that there is a self? That seems like a paradox. We may never figure that one out. That’s ok as long as we are humble about it.

Wait, what if the Buddha’s idea about the self had more to do with thinking as a We rather than an I.
