This whole thing is a social experiment?
This is a bottom level post.
Yes, this whole thing you have been reading is a social experiment. What are we supposed to learn from it? I don’t know. And, even if I did, it is an inherently poorly designed experiment and would be unreliable. So, it doesn’t really matter.
What I wish we would learn is how incredibly complicated everything is, how connected everything is, how uncertain everything is, how uncertain we are. If we thought that, maybe we would be more careful when doing things to each other and to the physical and biological systems we are completely intertwined with and dependent upon. We are at a critical point in our story. We are approaching carrying capacity of our (only) planet. We have done fantastically well creating so many things that have potentially sowed the end of life on this planet. But there is still more space-time. We are really good at things we put our minds to. We can solve this. Together is the only way.
