Individualistic Thinking is the Root?

What if individualistic thinking is the root of dualistic thinking which is the root of hierarchical thinking and hierarchal thinking is the root of progressive thinking because nothing can get better if we don’t have a hierarchy of what is better and worse which is dualistic in the sense of opposites as in the individualistic idea of dividing the world into me and everything-not-me. Because we believe a self exists. Looks like it works backwards and forwards. Or is it just circular reasoning of a different kind?
